I took these photos last month after my morning English classes. My husband was sleeping and I am camera-shy. I know he'd be more than willing to take photos of me, but I opted to do it myself. I love how these turned out. I used Photoshop to edit the images I thought were good enough. It's great. My sister was too kind to say that they looked like they were taken from a studio.

To be honest, I feel beautiful in these photos. I felt so precious, I don't know why. I know my hair is all over the place. The black and white filter was a great choice to hide my breakouts. I don't look pretty at all, but I just felt so lovely in these photos. Maybe it's because I'm carrying a life, or perhaps I just woke up on the right side of the bed. Whatever the reason is, I'm happy I took these photos of myself with my baby bump.

My husband and I went to the clinic for my fetal biometry ultrasound. I saw my baby, now bigger. I wish my husband had seen our baby with me. My doctor said that baby is moving a lot. Our baby is healthy and the head is in the right place or position. I'm proud to hear that. I've been feeling the baby's kicks every day. Some describe these kicks as flutters, or a fish swimming, or a wave. For me, it's like riding the roller coaster slowly and it suddenly drops to a lower railing. Parang naiwan yung kaluluwa ko sa itaas. "It's like my soul was left up there." That's the feeling I get from my baby's kicks. It's not that it hurts, but the kicks are rather surprising. I feel funny and nauseous sometimes.

Aya's favorite photo of her baby bump. Black and white photo with Aya holding her baby bump up with both arms with her body to the side.

I'm grateful for this life being entrusted to me and my husband. I know I'm not perfect and I am lacking in many ways. But despite all that, I have this growing courage that being a mother brings. I feel many things I don't understand. I've been quite emotional. Unlike most pregnant women, I didn't experience morning sickness. But I've experienced crying without knowing why and that's downright frustrating and confusing for me. I am grateful for my husband's support. Many times, he's been the recipient of my mysterious emotional-ness. I am blessed to have a supportive family (my own and my husband's). I love getting free food from people who care about me. I love receiving advice and love from parents and family, friends, older and more experienced individuals and couples, my students, the prophets, and most especially, my Heavenly Father.

Truly, this baby is a gift and I celebrate this gift every day.
